Makes fire well.To start, I just checked the date of my order and I bought one of these on October 25th, 2017. It is March 11th, 2019 as I write this review. I use it several times a day, almost every day, to light incense (sticks and charcoal disc) and this baby is STILL going strong! I have NEVER added butane and I have had zero issues with the flint.** New out of the package it was 3/4's full of butane ( I remember this fact because I was all, "WHAT?! I've been cheated!" when I first pulled it out of the shipping package, lol...).Now for a word of warning (because I would want someone to warn ME): Be careful about buying what appears to be the same lighter made by Eagle...And here's why:Well, since I'd had my current lighter for so long, I thought it would be wise to buy another as back up so I'd have one on hand. I mean, I'd been using it over a year at that point so I figured, it's GOTTA be getting ready to go out, yeah? So in January of this year, I went to buy another one and saw what LOOKED to be the same lighters in the "customers also bought..." area. One seller was selling four of these type of lighters for 12 bucks. I was all, "HA! SOMEone must have accidentally listed it for the wrong price! Let me hurry up and grab these before they realize their mistake and raise the price!" And just like a big dummy, I patted myself on the back for benefiting off of (what I thought was) someone's mistake. I was so awesome--getting over on someone's mistake. I hurried up to take advantage and bought the four lighters. When I received them, I realized they were made by a different manufacturer even though they looked the same. I immediately stopped using my old GStar to use the NEW ones (cause they're new and I HAVE to play with them...). Well, joke's on me--It has been LESS THAN TWO MONTHS and I am now on the 4th Eagle Torch lighter. The first three no longer work. There's butane in each and the flint is catching but no flame. I seriously doubt this fourth one will last longer than two weeks even though I just started using it today. One of the four not working could have been a fluke. MAYbe two of the four not working could have been a fluke. But THREE out of FOUR (so far) not working? That's a manufacturing problem, man...So, you've been warned--if you're considering going for the deal to buy 4 Eagle Torch's for less than 2 of THESE made by GStar? Don't bother. They are a waste of money and the irritation and frustration just isn't worth it.I bought this for blacking out the thermal labels on my packages, most of which are from Amazon, before discarding them. It's more convenient and more secure than peeling them off and shredding them. The red and black version is beautiful and matches the color motif of my desk. :)One seemingly minor but potentially dangerous flaw is the flame doesn't cut out right away after you have the torch fired up for longer periods (> 15 seconds). It takes around 1-2 seconds before the flame completely dies out. I suspect it has to do with the torch burning off the residual gas left in the chamber. The is not a problem if you use the torch in short bursts of a few seconds each. The flame is robust and the length of the flame is about 1-1/2 times the diameter of a US quarter.Despite the flaw, I like this torch. I'll be putting it away on my glass desk after use to avoid the risk of setting my apartment on fire. There seem to be a discrepancy among the posts regarding whether this torch comes pre-filled with lighter fluid. Mine came pre-filled. If yours doesn't, simply buy a butane refill canister and refill it yourself. It's easy:(1) Use a paperclip or pin to depress the fill port metal/brass protrusion on the bottom of the torch to expel any gas leftover in the torch. MAKE SURE THE TORCH IS EMPTY FIRST. The body of the torch is transparent, so you can see if there are any lighter fluid left in the reservoir. Note, too, that sometimes the reservoir is so full it appears empty because the bubble to cue you in on how much lighter fluid is left isn't prominent or missing.(2) Invert the torch so the fill port is facing up. Push the tip of the canister firmly into the fill port and hold for a few seconds. It should take a few SECONDS for the reservoir to fill up.That's it.If you do get this torch beware the potential fire hazard and be safe. Peace out.Ponen 4 y sino te fijas bien, piensas que son 4,cosa que pudiera pasar, por lo demás útil dependiendo el uso que se le dé,para mi esta bien excepto eso ?♀️.OK, So i ordered these and I had the same experience as some other reviewers. One of them was perfect, the other had a very large flame, little or no control over that flame, and continued to "fire" after letting go of the trigger. However, back in my day (lol) we used to have this trick for making regular lighters have a larger flame. We used to take them apart and use the little red adjusting lever as a wrench to increase or decrease the flame.I added some pics here to show that this can be done with this lighter too. Basically, you take out all the screws (carefully and in a well ventilated area...and wearing safety glasses !) then pull off half the black part and you will see the little lever exposed. Then, you use a small flat blade screwdriver to pop the little lever up, and then turn it either clockwise or counter clockwise while it is off of the tiny white gear, then put it back on the gear in the new position. So in my case the flame was too high. I put the lighter on the lowest setting, popped the lever out, spun it all the way counter clockwise, then put it back on the gear. Now when I turn it to low, its lower than it was before, and perfect!Anyway, for about 1 minute worth of work, it fixed the issues and I would not hesitate to buy again. I am willing to bet other lighters from this brand are adjustable in the same way.
