These are pretty good! This is coming from a lighter enthusiast, collector and fixer... A tad on the expensive side but not bad considering there longevity. This is my second set of 3. The first set lasted me just shy of a year... With seriously heavy daily use. But to be honest I did have to Frankenstein the last one after it broke. But it's still working strong. I ordered the second set cause I was down to the last one. Quick bullet points...The Good...They have high quality pizeo electronic ignitions! Trust me that's a huge plus. In fact not a single ignitor failed. And I will be recycling them for future repairs. Another plus is they have a flap over the chamber. That really cuts down on the debris that can get in and gunk up the flame. And the jet mechanism is brass and it's stream is powerful (statements of it being powerful from the manufacturer... 100% true)! A little too powerful, had turn mine down or it would burn whatever I was using it on. It's also refillable! Now....The BAD....The body and button/trigger are plastic really high grade plastic but plastic. So drops and prolonged use will subsequently melt and crack sections of the top. That useful flap... Is my #1 complaint and it was always the point of failure in all 3. One side of the moving flap anchors would crack off and the lid would not function properly which in turn, because of a very bad design flaw, which makes the lighter unusable because that lid or flap holds the push button ignitor part into the lighter.... After some tinkering I figured a work around to continue using the lighter but without the flap. I inserted a paper clip through the anchor holes, trimmed and bent the sides down under the cover which kinda needed to be bent into compliance with the extra metal protruding from the sides. But overall made the lighter usable again. I included a pic of the repair. Since they are expensive maybe someone wants to fix there's... Another fail point or rather kill point is the trigger button... It has two teeth that ride up and down in a track. 2 of the lighter that was the 2nd fail point. Unfortunately no work around for that. Once that fails there a parts lighter....Overall these are good windproof lighters. Some of the best refillable disposables I've ever come across. And I've come across 100's... Seriously! Definitely will keep buying products from TorchBlue. This shipment I got 2 of the new design. All black ones. Right of the bat I'm disappointed because there no longer see thru. So no way of telling how much fluid is in there. It's seems to be the only change they made that I can see. Hopefully there as good as there predecessors. But having some sort of fuel gauge... I'll miss that and the cool blue color they used to be.
